Interesting...

Maybe I'll try and save some pesos then. Better get a job first but...

'Metric fuck tonne' FTW!

Don't believe I've had dulce de leche on crepes, although they manage to sneak in a little into almost every meal so it's possible. My preferred preparation is fresh bread, lightly toasted, modest layer of dulce de leche and sliced banana... that, or a kilo of dulce de leche helado and a spoon.

Re: the writing. You are too kind, it was a little laboured... The link between the first and disclaimer could have been better. It's impossible to read a description of Buenos Aires without some mention of Europe, so I 'hilariously' dropped in a comparison to SF. That should be rewritten for the paperback edition. And the line about an "endless array"?! Please. Would it kill me to use something less contrived? 'Metric fuck tonne' was sitting right there on the table.

Re: symptoms of jealousy ... Well, Buenos Aires is becoming a popular destination for medical tourism; the peso is low and the quality of the health system is high. Qantas run direct from Melbourne and it's not too expensive in off-peak. With the Oz dollar on the up and up could be the best time in years, and you know accommodation will be free. I'll be here till at leastish June I reckon.

Top-notch writing K-bot.

As my sum-total experience of B.A. is a twelve-hour wait in the transit lounge, I am also muy jealous.

Are you eating dulce de leche on crepes? My ex Maree (una Chilena) used to make that sometimes. Pretty frickin' awesome.

A very charming account. I hope there's more to come. My jealousy doesn't seem to be fatal but it will probably have me out of sorts for a bit. I will now hold off visiting Italy, France or Spain until I first visit Buenos Aires.

Hey Liz, I'm glad the observations from my limited bubble were at least somewhat true for you. I probably could have mentioned the great nightlife, cobble stone streets, fashion, the parques etc etc .. but the gripes are somehow easier to write about. Me encanta esta ciudad. I gripe because I love.

What was the stand out impression for you? Anywhere I have to visit?
