OK… How about this one?

Posted by badger | Filed under: News

Well, it certainly appears that “Purse Your Lips” isn't going to be as popular as some of the other Crap-Tel products. Unless we start to give away Masters of the Universe figures with every copy sold.

So, how about this? Our marketing gurus have come up with a new idea for a compilation album featuring the greatest synthesiser riffs in history. Possible album titles include:

“Synthcronicity”

“That Synth Makes the Heart Grow Fonder”

“The Seven Deadly Synths”

Here's a few tracks to give you the flavour:

Jump/Van Halen

The Final Countdown/Europe

Pressure/Billy Joel

Just Can't get Enough/Depeche Mode

So, let's hear it, people. We want synth riffs and we want them now.

EDIT: This thread has gone to hell. The comments have turned into a bitch-fight between BDW and Vadge-Ra, with several unwholesome photos. Visit at your peril.

My vote for "The Seven Deadly Synths"…
    Rockit / Herbie Hancock

It's also great to see Jump again… as I said earlier, Jump should be on every compilation album.

  4. fancy dave says:

    too easy…

Well, too hard to narrow down.

Chameleon, Everybody Loves a 303, Higher State of Consciousness, The Racecard (tee hee), Neun-und-neunzig Luftballoons, Enola Gay….

Maybe it's too easy for me - a good synth sound and I'm sold.

  5. B-Diddy DubSac says:

Is it not, in fact, a criminal crime that one of youse hacks has overlooked YOUR OWN #1 WITH A BULLET??

Waterslide/Grasshopper - Krunk? (y'know, that one that goes eh ehh eh ehh e-e-e eh ehh eh ehh e-e-e, my favourite song!)

  6. KL says:

    :embarrest

Well that is VERY kind! Cheers, DubSac!

  7. KL says:

Kilbot, that thread also contains the details of the long lost Crap-Tel compilation (S)he Works Hard For The Money: Prostitute Anthems .

I had forgotten about that one.

  8. b. perm says:

pretty much any track from the cars eponymous release, although I'd have a hard time choosing betwixt good times roll, my best friends girl, just what I needed, moving in stereo and all mixed up (not the red house painters version, chortle!)

also the human league, fascination probably although don't you want me's probably got some synth on it too. And stereolab superelectric.

I'm going to have a lie down.

  12. KL says:

I like them too, Badger. So put your tongue away, young man.

  13. B-Diddy DubSac says:

    Good God!

Just coz your the 21st century's Magnum, does not confer you any right to confront us with this…this….

    MONSTROSITY!!!

I thought you would use my shaving tips for the power of good, THE POWER OF GOOD DAMN YOU!!! DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!!

(*NB didn't that Eve Internerd shaming site teach u anything about putting pictures on the net?….better back up the server Kilbottery as there could be some heavy traffic coming thru…)

  14. badger says:

yeah you're probably right Dabsuc; still, it'd be pretty embarrasing if someone had a picture of me attempting to fellate a fluffy blue childrens toy whilst making clumsy attempts to appear 'street' using those played out gangster hand gestures wouldn't it?

yes I think that would compell me to think before opening my big fat cakehole don't you?

    * before you had skin!!

  18. Barney says:

God damn… deja mother fucking vu. I could have sworn this happened with the last news item. Perhaps bitchbot.net could be a consideration for the new version…

A little something just for Badge and DubSac. A special place where they can bitch and scrap and spit and jibe at one another to their hearts' content, while the rest of us get down to the very serious business of conceiving of the worlds greatest compilation for one reason and one reason only - to make enough money to keep ourselves in the manner to which we would like to become accustomed

Namely, warm, drunk and surrounded by a harem of beautiful women (or our respective wives, in defference to those of us on the marriage trip) in a liitle warehouse-like loft aptly named the Gin Factory . I believe it will be on Queens Parade, North Fitzroy, Melbourne - although it doesn't know it yet…

  19. KL says:

Don't worry about it, Barney. Sometimes when two people are in love they have difficulty expressing it.

I personally find it rather amusing, and all my compilation threads are merely veiled attempts at match-making and/or counselling.

  20. Barney says:

You're quite the selfless matchmaker, KL… I really think that's great.

Perhaps they'll make you best man or flower boy or something when they eventually get together… after all, they're the original odd couple!

  21. Felix says:

I always thought the Original Odd Couple was when Loro contemplated moving in with Orsini…

Anyhooters, back on topic after a good Vadge-bash (seems theses Dino Music Comps must trigger a dormant bitchslap mechanism), a few more synth riffs came to me in the shower…

"Electric Dreams" - Theme from Movie

    "Neverending Story" - Lamal (?)

"Sometimes" - Les Rythmes Digitale featuring NICK KERSHAW!!

    "Push Up" - Freestylers

Roger Zapp's career (y'know The Voicecoder dude)

"Word Up" - Cameo (hey, that's also a Whistling entry!)

    "Ain't Nobody" - Chakaaaaa KAAAAAAHN!

"Take On Me" - A-muthaphukkin-Ha (goddam that was blindingly obvious!)

Am i redeemed? Goddam Badg- I mean, that fish is ugly! I still look way street tho…

  22. KL says:

Nice work, Felix. All gold there.

Barns, Gin Factory is a nice name, but how about this little ripper:

  23. badger says:

    dear everyone,

I am above your petty taunts

  24. Barney says:

Mate, that is a sweet fucking name for a bar… no doubt rife with the Chardonnay set enjoying a quiet Manilow before a night at the theatre.

Does lack the inherent Warhol reference, however… I (and Killer) envision pipes bending their way around the walls carrying grain alcohol (read: crunk) through various permeations before emptying into cavernous vats from whence naked whenches sup of the fine libation to ensure its quality before ceremoniously blending it with the finest Schweppes tonic and HALF OF A LIME per drink (as opposed to the oft favoured - in this country, at least - paper thin half round of lemon through which one could quite easily, if grudgingly, read a newspaper) in a glass of the finest crystal… all under black lights so that the enticing blue glow we all know so well emits from each and every drink, illuminating the room with its soft lustre and disguising under a veil of subtlety the lines being etched deeper into out respective faces by the passing hour.

What's the deal with the booze up bar, anyway? You know, besides tasty foods, fine drinks, good music and nice something… :weirdo:

  25. fancy dave says:

    yes…
food… drinks… music… what have they left out???

    aaaaaahhh, of course!!! DOCKERS!!!

  26. B-Diddy DubSac says:

    Back on topic…

He he - that's good shit, Diddy. We should get those bad boys printed up and start handing them around…
